36 days, 383 miles

Hi, my name is Audrey. In a few days, I will be hiking the Slovenian Mountain Trail with my boyfriend, Nick. This website will be a platform to share photos from the trip, reflect on the experience, and eventually (or rather, hopefully) be able to provide some insights for anyone looking to take a similar trip in the future.

At Ghost Ranch, a 21,000-acre dude Ranch in New Mexico whose vibrant cliffs and animal bones captured the attention of renounced (and perhaps my favorite) painter Georgia O’Keeffe. While O’Keeffe started her career in New York, she stayed at the dude ranch for the first time in 1934 and would return to spend part of the year there for most of her life. Ghost Ranch inspired many of O’Keeffe’s paintings, including Rams Head, Blue Morning Glory, 1938, Untitled (Red and Yellow Cliffs), 1940, and In the Patio VIII (1950).
